Wealth, quietly kept.

Halcyon serves a deliberately small number of families. We are independent, unhurried, and accountable to no one but you — as it has been for four generations.

What we do

Counsel for every generation of wealth

Long-horizon portfolios built to compound quietly across decades — not quarters. We hold few positions, know them deeply, and are content to be early, late, or absent from fashion.

  • Discretionary mandates
  • Direct equity & fixed income
  • Private & unlisted allocations
  • Annual stewardship review

The quiet architecture of passing wealth well — structures, letters of wishes, and the family conversations most houses avoid. We sit on your side of the table, alongside your counsel.

  • Trusts & holding structures
  • Governance & family charters
  • Next-generation education
  • Philanthropy design

A single point of contact for the practical weight of wealth — consolidated reporting, banking relationships, property matters and the paperwork that follows a family across borders.

  • Consolidated reporting
  • Banking & lending coordination
  • Property & passion assets
  • Concierge administration

Borrowing against a life's work deserves care. We arrange credit that respects the portfolio — measured, collateral-aware, and never a product pushed for its own sake.

  • Lombard & portfolio credit
  • Property finance
  • Liquidity planning
  • Negotiated banking terms

From the desk of the CIO

On patience, and its price

Each year I write to our families with the same, unfashionable message: the portfolio did less than the market on its best days, and considerably more on its worst. That asymmetry is not an accident. It is the entire point.

Markets reward those who can wait, and punish those who must act. Our work, at its heart, is building the conditions in which waiting is possible — for you, and for the generation after you.

The house

Four generations, one bench

The partners’ room — photographed 2026
1927

Founded as a family office

Established to steward a single shipping family's estate — a mandate we still hold today.

1954

The second family

Our doors opened, reluctantly, to a second family. Growth by introduction became the house rule.

1989

Independence, preserved

We declined acquisition by a global bank — choosing partnership over scale, as we have three times since.

2011

The India desk

A Mumbai office for families whose interests, like ours, now span continents.

Today

140 families, by design

Large enough to matter to markets. Small enough that the partners know every name at the table.

An introduction

Begin a conversation worth having.

We accept a small number of new families each year, by introduction or considered enquiry. The first conversation carries no obligation — only candour.
